Policeman dies in
accidental firing

A policeman yesterday died from accidental firing inside a police barracks in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan., acting provincial police director of Negros Occidental said.

That Police Officer 2 Joery Ayo succumbed to a gunshot wound at the back of his head.

Initial investigations by the Sipalay police headed by Supt. Noel Mana-ay showed that Ayo was cleaning his gun, a Glock 9mm pistol, at the police barracks at about 7:30 a.m. when it accidentally went off, yesterday.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Sipalay infirmary.

Mana-ay said Ayo,36, served as the Police Community Relations chief of the Sipalay City Police Station, before his death.*GPB
