Bing backs move
for island-region
There is wisdom in establishing a one-island region for Negros, Bacolod Rep. Evelio “Bing” Leonardia said, and he will do whatever is necessary to help create it.
“I am talking from experience,” Leonardia said, “a Negros region will accelerate our development.”
The Bacolod solon said he realized the importance of a one-island region when he was still the provincial tourism officer of Negros Occidental in the ‘80s.
“From our work in tourism, I realized how much faster and more efficient things would be if the entire island belonged to one region. This was especially evident in the area of promotions,” he added. “It would be a lot more effective and efficient if we promoted the entire island together.”
