A former barangay captain in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at around 11:30 p.m. Monday at Amparos Village in the city, conducted by the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, and in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Bayawan police station, led by Senior Insp. Avell Laborte, city police chief, and representatives from the local Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

requirements on re-accreditation'
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

The Dumaguete City government is working on the requirements of the Civil Service Commission for its accreditation, that was revoked due to a low rating in the implementation of certain rules and regulations.

City Human Resource officer Ruperto Tenorio Jr. said the city government received a notice of revocation of accreditation from the CSC in the last week of March.

He said that in 1999, the city government had applied for CSC accreditation but it was discovered that the Dumaguete LGU had earned low ratings in human resource management.

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

There are no pending applications for wage increases in Negros Oriental, senior labor employment officer Vivencio Lagahid said recently.

The latest increase approved was the additional P13 cost of living allowance for workers in the private sector in the Central Visayas on March 21, Lagahid said. From the minimal wage of P297, the basic pay increased to P310 each day with the approval of the P13 COLA, he added.

Meanwhile, a jobs' fair will be held tomorrow at Robinsons Mall in Dumaguete City, organized by the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, with Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo as chairman, and Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria as vice chairman.
