Pastors win
Friendship Games

The Pastors Team prevailed against the Priests Team, 12-9, in the second encounter of their best-of-three game series to capture the championship in the Friendship and Unity Games Table Tennis organized by the Lopue's Table Tennis Association in Bacolod City.

Carrying the banner for the champion team are pastors Jude Pimentel, Dino Sagadal, Rayman Villanueva, and Joel Valdez with veteran paddler George Jimenez as reinforcement.

The priests' team is composed of Frs. Nick Melicor, Jesmar Manato, Raymon Asoy, and Sam Balboa with ace player Carlitos Orola completing the lineup.

The tournament adopted the race to 12 format with the members from both teams playing in singles and doubles matches.

The pastors swept the best-of-three series after taking game one last June 12.

LOPTTA president Diotay Lopue said the tournament was organized to highlight table tennis as one sporting event that can unify and facilitate better relationships among athletes belonging to different groups.*NAB
