The 6th Mayor Oti Driver's Cup 2014, a basketball tournament in Silay City, opened Friday at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center, a press release from the Silay city hall said.

Seeing action in the tournament are 22 teams from the different tricycle and pedicab drivers' association in the city.

The opening ceremony started with a parade of the participants from the City Hall to the gym followed by a program with Mayor Jose Montelibano and other city officials as guests.

Montelibano also heads the technical committee with vice mayor Mark Golez as vice chairman, and Noel Doloriac, Hector Gamboa Jr., Alberto Andrada, and Glenn Dacula as members.

Aside from Montelibano, councilors Ireneo Celis and ABC President Jose Lopez gave messages during the program, while Roger Balanguis, a member of the SUCIPTODA led the oath of amateurism.*
