303IB to mark its 28th
founding anniversary Aug. 8

The Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade is marking its 28th founding anniversary with thanksgiving rites on August 8 at Camp Major Gerona in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, and by giving awards and citations to its Bayanihan partners for their support in their peace and development activities in Negros Occidental.

The anniversary theme is “303rd Brigade” Kaagapay ng mga Negrense sa Bayanihan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”. Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Maj. Gen. Aurelio Baladad, 3rd Infantry Division commander, will be among the guests of honor and speakers.

Col. Jon Aying, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said they will honor their “active partners” in the implementation of the Internal Peace and Security Plan “Bayanihan”, which advocates the “whole-of-nation” approach, or the involvement of all stakeholders in addressing the internal security challenges in Negros Occidental.

The activity also coincides with the blessing of its covered court by Rev. Fr. Jaime Carmona, with Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 4th District) among the guests. A wreath-laying ceremony will also be held on the same day at the Gerona monument in the military camp.

The 303rd IB has been serving the Negrenses since the 1990s.*GPB
