TLDC bares earnings

The Technology and Livelihood Development Center of Negros Occidental earned P30,279 from its consigned products in May this year while the figures for June and July were not available yet yesterday.

Menzi Joy Rojo, who is in charge of the food sector, said 10 percent of the amount, or P3,027.92, will go to the province as provided in its tax code, and the rest to assisted food producers.

TLDC has been assisting local food producers to help them market, promote and display their products to different buyers and clients, and providing trainings and seminars on packaging, labeling, and product improvement, Rojo said.

She said they also earned P10,875 from the rentals of their training room and equipment in May.

Fees for TLDC services are for: vacuum packaging machine - P75 per hour, refractometer - P40 per sample, shrink packaging machine - P75 per hour, pH meter (for analysis of food acidity) P50 per sample, and other laboratory facilities and utensils for product development - P150 per day.

Rental for TLDC training room with audio equipment is P1,000 (8a.m. to 5p.m.), equipment rentals like TV with VHS (P250/hr), digital projector with pull down screen (P350/hr), digital projector with desktop personal computer and pull down screen (P400/hr).

Rojo said their income from photocopy services for May was P794 but there are no statistics yet on the earnings from printing jobs for food labels.*APN
