Team Capitol turned back Silay in three straight sets, 27-25, 27-25, and 25-14 to register a win in men’s Class B competition of the 6th Bro. Ceci Hojilla Memorial Volleyball Cup at the University of St. La Salle Dizon Covered Court in Bacolod City, yesterday.

Also getting into the win column was the LST Volleyball Club as the squad bounced back from 25-27 first set loss to tame La Carlota in the next three sets, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-21 and win the game.

La Carlota suffered another setback in women’s Class B competition as the team bowed to Silay, 25-14, 25-12 and 25-12.

Team B of Arnel Lapore and Team D of Jun Ballesteros are eyeing the lead in Your Basketball Athletic Club -Jake Azucena Cup at the West Negros University gym.

Both squads won their first assignments as Team B survived Bong Ibe’s Team C, 85-81, while Team D squeaked past Edwin Fregil’s Team A, 76-75.

Lapore and his teammates were up in the first quarter, 24-18, with Jason Olivar leading in the score sheet with eight points while Lapore and Oscar Aquino combined for 13 points.
