Meat prices increase

Average prices of beef in Negros Occidental have increased by 78 centavos based on market price monitoring by the Provincial Veterinary Office.

From an average price of P212.19 per kilo as of August 4, beef is now at 212.97 as of August 11, it said.

The average price of pork dropped by 47centavos per kilo. From P187.19, it went down to P186.72, the same PVO document shows.

Average price of dressed chicken also dropped by P1.56 per kilo. From P145.31, it is now 143.75. The average price of fresh eggs also went down. Small eggs are sold at P5.14 from P5.19, medium eggs at P5.77 from P5.92, large eggs at P6.42 from P6.50 and extra large eggs at P7.05 from P7.09.

There is, however, an increase in the average price of salted eggs of 8 centavos, the latest price monitoring result shows.*GRD
