on infrastructure dev’t plan
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., chairman of the Senate committees on Local Government and on Public Works, yesterday held consultations with the governor and mayors, other officials and sectoral representatives in Negros Oriental, to get a “feel” of their priority development projects that need attention from the national government.

Marcos, who is believed to be angling for the presidency in the 2016 election, said his visit to Dumaguete City was aimed to collect information for his proposed creation of a national infrastructure development plan.

He first joined the mayors during the meeting of the League of Municipalities of Negros Oriental, attended by Vice Governor Mark Macias and some Sangguniang Panlalawigan members in Dumaguete.

The SP, presided over by Vice Governor Mark Macias, held a special session Wednesday and approved the remaining seven of the 17 items under the supplemental budget requested by Degamo.

The governor also thanked those who supported him when the request was being deliberated by the executive and legislative branches due to technicalities.
