Marby Arcade faces Modern Café
in Fil-Sino Class A final showdown

Marby Arcade blew away NHOJs Sportswear, 90-61, while 365 Modern Café pulled off an 84-79 victory against Pilmiko/Salto to arrange a titular showdown 7 tonight, in Class A of the Fil-Sino Inter-company Basketball Friendship Cup at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Marby, enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage, made sure that there will be no Game 2 rubber match by dominating NHOJs in all four quarter to advance into the finals.

Unlike in their two encounters in the elimination round, where both teams won by close margins against each other, Marby unleashed a more balanced offensive to overpower NHOJs.

Sharp Friendship bowlfest
starts tonight at New Top’s

The Sharp Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament will start tonight after the 6 p.m. meeting of team managers and representatives at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

More than 25 teams from bowling clubs in Bacolod and neighboring cities and towns are expected to join the tournament.

Suppliers Friendship Cup 2014 Class A champion Sharp Aquos I, Non-rated winner Canvil Knights, and Ladies champ Condura ASSFBI II are leading the teams vying for the title in the three divisions of the competition.

SJI Dads beat Silver Dragon,
Phoenix trounces11 Degrees

The SJI Dads prevailed over Batch 93/95 Silver Dragon, 93-74, to notch a win in the latest match-up of the Msgr. Su and Msrg. Liu SJI Alumni Basketball Tournament held at the Msrg. John Liu Activity Center in Bacolod City, a press release from the organizers said.

SJI dads with a 32-point opening quarter salvo, overpowered the Silver Dragon as Rijun Lapu-os scored 20 points and Mark Yanson delivered 10.

Silver Dragon tried to bounce back in the second quarter but the Dad managed to protect their double-digit lead with a balanced scoring and efficient defense, the press release said.
