The Expo Mom 2014 will be held by the Mommy Mundo, in partnership with Gato Verde, Sunday at The District North Point Ayala in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, a press release from organizers said.
The expo will feature booths of “mompreneurs”, all-day talks, demos, and raffle draws, and will showcase mom brands and products, the press release also said.
Expo Mom has drawn over 60,000 participants since 2008. It has become a venue for like-minded moms to establish lasting connections, and has also become the catalyst for the mompreneur movement in Manila, the press release said. Mommy Mundo founder Janice Villanueva said they admire mothers for their powers in time management and multitasking, but they may sometimes forget to show mothers appreciation and affirmation.
The Expo Mom 2014 is a campaign to recognize the many big and small accomplishments of all mothers. Now on its seventh year, it is the biggest event of its kind, gathering progressive, active moms in an environment that's both recreational and educational, the press release also said.
The Expo Mom's entrance fees will go to its partner beneficiary, Kinder Project, that aims to provide reading tools and training to public school teachers in Quezon City and Payatas. BCC turning 17
The Bacolod City College will celebrate its 17 th Foundation Week on September 2-8, and the opening day will start with the worship event at 7:30 a.m., parade and rites at the BAYS Center on Tuesday, a press release from the city said.
The sports activities and stage presentations will be led by department heads and the BCC Supreme Student Government. The theme is “BCC: Pag-asa sang Kabuhi Ko (My Hope, My Life)”, a fitting description of how the City-run educational institution had granted college degrees to thousands of students now employed here and abroad, the press release also said.
It said BCC's pioneer president, Dr. Norma Juarez-Roque, served the City by “developing the school”.
BCC now offers five bachelor course programs in Business Education, Information System, Industrial Technology, Office Administration, and Teacher Education, the press release added.*

Breastfeeding exhibit,
forum set tomorrow
A Milk Code forum and breastfeeding photography exhibit will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Santuario de la Salle in Bacolod, to cap the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month observance, a press release from organizers said.
The event is organized by the Bacolod Mom & Baby Club breastfeeding support group based in the city, and the Institute for Negros Development of the University of St. La Salle, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bacolod South and the Department of Health, the press release also said.
The forum on The Milk Code of the Philippines, under Executive Order No. 51 issued by then president Corazon Aquino in 1986, seeks to promote better understanding of the Code and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. EO 51 aims to provide safe and adequate nutrition for infants through the protection and promotion of breastfeeding and proper use of breast milk supplements.
Guest speaker is Dr. Anthony Calibo, a pediatrician, who is the officer-in-charge of the Child Health Division and medical specialist IV of the Newborn Care Program of the DOH-Family Health Office. His efforts in support of breastfeeding have contributed towards achievements of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in the Philippines, the press release said.
The forum and exhibit are open to healthcare professionals and students, social workers, breastfeeding counselors, mothers, mothers-to-be and their families.
