La Salle spikers eyeing crown
in Bro. Ceci men’s Class A

The University of St. La Salle men’s volleyball team is eyeing another title when the squad collides with the Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod in the Class A finals of the Bro. Ceci Memorial Volleyball Tournament at the USLS Covered Court 10 a.m. today.

A victory for the La Salle spikers today will also give the team an automatic slot to the September 5 - 7 invitational side event of the tournament where teams from Iloilo Doctors College, Central Philippine University, and Foundation University of Dumaguete are also competing.

Also scheduled to wrap up the contest in their respective divisions are the Capitol men’s team and the Silay City women’s squad in Class B, as well as the St. John’s Institute girls in Class C. All three teams are enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage against their rivals.

FIBA World Cup live at SkyCable

SkyCable will  air  the games at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain live and in high definition on SkyCable pay-per-view from August 30 to September 15, a press release from the company said.

The FIBA World Cup, held every four years,   will feature the top basketball teams from different continents who will dispute the world championship title.

The World Cup will also automatically earn a slot in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. After 35 years, the Philippines returns to the tournament and will play their hearts out to bring home basketball glory.
