An ordinance requiring all malls and business establishments in Bacolod City to provide sanitary restrooms free of charge to its customers, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on third and final reading yesterday.
The ordinance authored by Bacolod Councilor El Cid Familiaran and co-authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella, said the provision of sanitary restrooms in malls and business establishments in the city, free of charge to its customers will serve the public, and further address their comfort and convenience.
The influx of tourists in the city and in the province makes it even more exigent for the city to require malls/business establishments within its jurisdiction to provide sanitary restrooms, it said.S


Jolibee opens
12th store in Bacolod
Jollibee Food Corporation opened its 12th store yesterday at Araneta-San Sebastian streets, Bacolod City.
Nelson Judaya, Jollibee Trade Marketing Manager, yesterday said this is their 12th store in Negros Occidental and the 106th in the Visayas, adding that they have over 800 stores in the country.
Judaya said the first 100 customers during the opening yesterday got a free Jollibee champ. They also gave out balloons for every value meal purchase.


Solon lauds
Tyre Tech entrepreneur
Bacolod Rep. Evelio Leonardia yesterday lauded Yolly Hilado, owner of Tyre Tech Sales and Autocare Inc. in Singcang, Bacolod City that was blessed and opened yesterday, for her entrepreneurship and that of her children.
It is significant that the Hilados are opening their business in the south side of Bacolod City, as this will help the push to balance the economic growth in the area with that of the north.
Leonardia said he is pushing for the construction of a flyover at the corner of Araneta Street and Magsaysay Avenue to accelerate progress in the southern side of the city.
