Bacolod snatches 5 gold medals After two days of competition, host Bacolod City captured three gold medals in table tennis and one each in chess and swimming as the Batang Pinoy 2014 National Championships enters its penultimate day. Swimmer Regan Joseph Garbanzos prevailed in the boys 12 and Under 400m freestyle to give the Bacolod City team its first gold medal, while Valerio Mangubat delivered the second as dominated the boys’ rapid chess competition. Lopue’s Table Tennis Association paddlers John Michael Castro, Ann Gella Borbon, and Neil John Lauren topped their respective event to complete the host city’s five-gold medal haul in two days. |
