Tractorco Company Inc.'s first “Tractorco Agrimechanica 2014” held Wednesday succeeded in showcasing how modern machineries can increase farm productivity.
The first-ever event of its kind, initiated and held by British-based Tractorco Company was held at the company's shop in Barangay Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, a press release from the firm said.
The well-attended activity was attended by private and government executives and officials who witnessed machinery demonstrations, such as stationary forage choppers and hammer mills, a cane loader and forage wagon for collecting cane and rice trash, it added.
They also actively participated in the seminars conducted by Tractorco Company President, David Lockhart.
Lockhart talked on the topic, “The Mechanization of Cane Harvesting in the Philippines”.
Other topics and speakers were, Company General Manager, Jeanet De Belen and Joseph Burgstaller of Pottinger, Austria’s expert on “Cane and Rice Trash Collection Systems for Biofuel”; and, Assistant Manager, Cristy Gatuteo and Fatih Durak of Fimaks on "Machinery for Livestock Farming”.
Tractorco Agrimechanica was a great opportunity to those in the agricultural sector, such as farmers and livestock owners, to familiarize themselves with the latest range of products and services that Tractorco company offers, the press release said.
It was also an event that updated those in the sector to on latest technology in the livestock and sugarcane farming, as well as trash collection for biomass.
Tractorco company is expressing its gratitude to all who came to the event especially the guests from Northern Luzon, Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas, and from Negros Occidental, as well as those who helped make the exhibition a big success, the press release said.
