P27B Ilog-Hilabangan River Basin
integrated mgmt plan ready: DENR
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is reportedly hoping that the project to protect the Ilog-Hilabangan River Basin in Negros Island will be approved for funding by the government.
The Ilog-Hilabangan River Basin is a critical watershed system bounded by several local government units from Negros Oriental and Occidental.
Mario Aragon of the Forest Resources Development Division of the DENR in Region 7 said that while the conservation and development project was hatched several years ago, it was only this year when the DENR central office contracted the services of Lichel Technologies Inc. to undertake a study and prepare a master plan it. |
