DTI opens reg'l
Negosyo Center for SMEs

The Department of Trade and Industry regional office in Iloilo City recently launched the soft opening of its Negosyo Center in line with Republic Act 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act of 2014 authored by Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino.

DTI Regional Director Wilhem Malones said the Act promotes job generation and inclusive growth through the development of micro, small and medium enterprises that will bring government services closer to small businesses through the establishment of Negosyo Centers in all provinces, cities and municipalities in the country.

As a one-stop shop, the center would facilitate development program as well as provide support for business conceptualization, management, team building, marketing, human resources and many aspects of maintaining a business.

Malones said the center would provide business name registration only while the Iloilo City government would provide business registration for permits and licensing.

The center is expected to further boost assistance to MSMEs to grow, flourish and intensify the promotion of business entrepreneurship in the country.

Located at the ground floor of DTI building along JM Basa St.,the center provides services such as business advisory, information and advocacy, business registration through the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) and monitoring and evaluation.

In Iloilo City, the center is in close coordination with the Business Resource Center handled by the local economic promotion office under the City Treasurer's Office.

Malones said a total of 100 Negosyo Centers will be established nationwide and pilot areas are Iloilo City, Batangas, National Capital Region (NCR) and Cagayan de Oro. Soon to be opened are Negosyo Centers in Cebu and Davao cities.*PNA
