Signal No.1 raised over Neg. Occ.
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) yesterday raised storm signal number one over Negros Occidental as tropical depression Seniang approached.

But Melvin Fierro Sr. of the Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Team said Seniang could still change course and a more accurate projection on whether the province will be hit is more likely to be known today.

Tropical depression "Seniang" slightly intensified as it moved closer towards Northeastern Mindanao, PAGASA reported at 5 p.m. yesterday.

It had maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, PAGASA added.

It is expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Tandag, Surigao del Sur this morning, PAGASA said.*CPG
