Vendors vacate BREDCO
jeepney terminal

Vendors occupying the jeepney terminal at the Bacolod Reclamation area have started to vacate the site and transferred to the Vendors' Plaza, Rey Demisana, City Enforcement Team leader, said yesterday.

The jeepney terminal built during the time of former Mayor Luzviminda Valdez, and the Vendors' Plaza has not been used for several years now and had been occupied by vendors.

Some of the vendors who have been relocated to the Vendors' Plaza from Bonifacio Street beside the Bacolod Central Market, meanwhile, complained that their profit had decreased.

They said they used to earn as much as P1,000 to P2,000 a day but after their relocation, they only earned P400 and sometimes even less, lower because their customers could no longer locate them at their new selling place.

Demisana appealed to the vendors for their understanding and assured them that once the jeepney terminal beside the Vendors' Plaza becomes re-operational, they will regain their profits.

Demisana said that they will go back to the Bacolod Central Market to remove the vendors from its aisles and will also remove other vendors around the Libertad South Public Market.*APN
