‘Lamesa ni Mayor’ today

The Public Affairs and Assistance Division of Bacolod City will spearhead the launching of the “Lamesa ni Mayor Program at 9 a.m. today, at the Lobby of the Bacolod Government Center, a press release from City Hall said.

The program aims to promote public awareness on the plans and projects of the administration of Mayor Monico Puentevella and for barangay residents to actively participate, benefit and take advantage of these various services, the press release said.

PAAD Executive Assistant and former Barangay Villamonte Captain Andre Victor Las Piñas said the program will unite the Office of the City Mayor with the 61 barangays of Bacolod, it said.

“Lamesa ni Mayor” will pipeline basic services direct to all residents of the city, the press release said.

To address this prime concern, the press release said, Puentevella believes that “Lamesa ni Mayor” could serve as the best conduit for this need.

Admitting his and the Bacolod Government Center’s hectic day to day schedule, Puentevella believes that Lamesa ni Mayor as a help-desk at the barangay level in a way brings city governance much closer to the people, the release also said.

Sixty one Lamesa ni Mayor will be placed in each barangay hall of the city with a designated PAAD employee. The program will extended the services of some of the city’s major offices such as the Department of Public Services, City Health Office, MKK Action Center, City Engineer’s Office, the Urban Basic Services Division, City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.*
