“Operation Helping Hands” headed by Commander Manuel Biadog Jr., US Naval Support Activity command chaplain in Naples, Italy, Friday brought assistance to the victims of the super typhoon in Cadiz City in Negros Occidental.
The group also brought help to residents of Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, on Saturday, and will be in Tapaz, Capiz, today.
Biadog, who was born in Cadiz City and raised in Talisay City, said the OHH team was assisted by the Baptist Missionary Association of the Philippines’ Bible College in Talisay City, in their mission held at Hacienda Asuncion Locsin, Barangay Cadua-an, Cadiz City, Friday.
Each family received a Family Care Package containing rice, canned goods, and vitamins, he said.
During the day-long activity the Bible school students taught values’ formation.
The medical team members also checked the blood pressure of residents of the area, he added.
“Operation Helping Hands is about people helping people. Gracious donors gave resources for the mission and the owner of Hacienda Locsin gave his 100 percent support and expressed gratitude for the donors and volunteers,” Biadog said.
He thanked the family of Kokoy Locsin and the BMAP Bible School students and staff led by Dr. Edna Magbanua Oli for their help.
