A man, who attempted to steal from a house and stabbed a barker in Purok Kawayanan I, Brgy. Handumanan in Bacolod City, Friday, was arrested by residents who saw him sleeping near a vacant lot in the purok, at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Senior Insp. Ruel Culanag, Station 10 chief, said yesterday that Rosendo Enema, 26, of Purok San Antonio in Brgy. Handumanan, sustained injuries when he ran away and tried to hide from the residents. Enema allegedly entered a house in the purok but the owner, whose name was not disclosed, saw him and shouted for help, Culanag said.
While the residents were looking for Enema, Julie Ramirez, 41, a barker, came out from his house to help. When he returned, after everything seemed normal, the suspect, who was hiding in his house, stabbed him, Culanag said.
He said the 15-year-old son of Ramirez chased Enema but when he pointed a knife at him, he retreated and helped others on bringing his father to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center.
Enema was seen by residents the next day and nabbed him, Culanag said.
The police frisked Enema and recovered a small transparent sachet of suspected shabu and a transparent sachet of suspected marijuana, police records show.
Culanag said the suspected illegal drugs were turned over to the Provincial Crime Laboratory and Enema was subjected to a drug test.
Enema told the police that he had been to a rehabilitation center before, Culanag said.*SGG back
