Inhibition of prosecutor,
dismissal of raps sought

Three of the respondents in the complaint for estafa allegedly involving millions of pesos invested for the recovery of “trillions of dollars” from the estate of a deceased Negrense, have filed a motion for the inhibition of the entire Office of the City Prosecutor of Bacolod City.

Respondents Sylvia Asparen, Clara Moncada Pabon and Mauricio Ulep are asking that the case instead be sent to the Department of Justice in Manila for resolution by an impartial tribunal.

Assistant Bacolod City Prosecutor Maritess Gumahin, who is handling the case, said she hopes to come up with a resolution on the matter today.moremoremore

Mayor calls gov’t
center ‘People’s House’

Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella yesterday declared that from now on, the Bacolod Government Center will be called “The People’s House” and as such will be considered as “home for every Bacolodnon”.

Puentevella made the announcement during the launching of the “Lamesa ni Mayor” at the government center yesterday.

The departments involved in the program signed a commitment of support witnessed by the members of the Liga nga mga Barangay present during its launching.moremoremore

CyberCentre locator
inks lease today

The president of Ubiquity Global Services is set to sign a contract of lease for a section of the Negros First CyberCentre in Bacolod City this morning, making it the first of several Business Process Outsourcing firms to finalize its occupancy in the facility, expected to be completed in June.

The signing was set at L‘Fisher Hotel yesterday afternoon but was reset to today as the plane taken by Ubiquity president Matthew Nyren from Manila to Bacolod, was diverted to Cebu because of a wing malfunction.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Nyren are scheduled to sign the lease contract at the Governor’s Office at the Capitol in Bacolod City at 11 a.m. today.moremoremore
