Anti-drug campaign

Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, regional police director of Western Visayas, yesterday said that they have arrested 63 drug personalities in Region 6 in January.

In a statement issued by Supt. Roderick Alba, Police Community Relations chief, Angan noting an increase in the number of arrested drug personalities from 23 in January last year, compared to last month this year.

In the same period, the police also recovered 47 firearms from 34 arrested violators, apprehended 25 wanted persons, compared to 12 last year, and 97 persons for illegal gambling.

Six persons were nabbed for carnapping.

Angan credited the accomplishments in the anti-illegal drugs to the collaborative efforts of the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, in coordination with the private sector.*GPB
