| Talisay celebrates
The 16th Charter anniversary and Minuluan Festival in Talisay City, Negros Occidental were celebrated recently, highlighted by the Pasidungog awards ceremony to honor the top taxpayers, families, policemen and individuals considered model citizens worthy of emulation.
Mayor Eric Saratan, Vice Mayor Neil Lizares and Sangguniang Panlungsod members led the giving of awards.
The city government envisions that Talisay will become the top retirement destination in the Philippines by 2020. It now enjoys a huge increase in the number of retirees migrating to the lush greens and fresh air of Talisay, calling it their new home.
Another highlight of the Charter Day celebration was the search for the Lin-ay sang Talisay, and Treni Rivera was crowned queen, with Kishja Erodias and Guila Retiban as first and second runners-up, respectively.
