The blessing and inauguration of the Casino Filipino-Bacolod is set tomorrow at L’Fisher Hotel at 15th-Lacson Street, Bacolod City.
Bacolod Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya yesterday said the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City had passed a resolution inquiring about the plans of the reported transfer of the Casino Filipino-Bacolod from Goldenfields Commercial Complex to 15th-Lacson Street.
It also passed a resolution expressing its sentiment that the Casino Filipino should comply the existing Resolution of No Objection Ordinance passed in 2012 or City Ordinance 599, he said.
C.O. 599 is an ordinance requiring all amusement and/or gaming establishments to obtain a Resolution of No Objection from the SP before its operations within its territorial jurisdiction.
Andres Lizares, general manager of Casino Filipino-Bacolod, has informed the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City that they have already forwarded to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Corporate Office in Metro Manila the letter they received from the SP requiring them to secure a Resolution of No Objection.
This was contained in his letter dated Dec. 26, 2013 to SP Secretary Vicente Petierre lll.
Gasataya said the SP might discuss about the transfer of the casino from Goldenfields Commercial Complex to Lacson Street, while he has his own personal stand on the matter which he said will reveal at the proper time.
If the Casino Filipino-Bacolod will move out of Goldenfields Commercial Complex it will have a big effect on the businesses in the area, as well as in the southern portion of Bacolod, Gasataya said.
There are also other concerns and issues it should have considered before deciding to transfer, he said.
They hope Casino Filipino will observe the existing RONO Ordinance of the city authored by Councilor Archie Baribar in 2012, Gasataya added.*CGS back
