BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Members of two small business associations in Dumaguete received P3,000, each for a total of P123,000, in cash assistance from Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria at his office at City Hall yesterday.

Twenty-one members of the Bajumpandan CORE Shelter SEA-Kaunlaran Association of Barangay Bajumpandan, and 20 from the Bayanihanon Association of Barangay Banilad received the money as part of the city's efforts to help small entrepreneurs improve their living conditions.

The beneficiaries thanked the city government for the assistance, that they said, will help them a lot in their small businesses.

Sagarbarria reminded them to be prudent, and to invest the money wisely.

The turnover was attended by Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling, City Social Welfare officer Carola Alquero and staff.*JFP
