USLS on track of U13 title
retention campaign

Chyle Miraflores delivered two goals and Ralph Castro added one as University of St. La Salle beat A. Mabini Elementary School, 3-1, to stay on track of its title-retention bid in the Under 13 category of the Dynamic Football Leage Age-Group Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Saturday.

The young booters from Mabini scored the first goal of the match courtesy of Joseph Ciocon in the 17 th minute but the La Salle boys were to counter and even the score at 1-all with Miraflores' 18 th minute marker.

He registered his second goal in the 27 th minute to put USLS ahead, 2-1, while Castro made it 3-1 in the 38 th minute.

Joining USLS in the win column in Group B are Don Bosco Technical School with a 4-0 win over E.T.C. La Carlota, and Trinity Christian School, who surprised Bata ES, 2-1.

Don Bosco boys dominated the match against their counterparts from La Carlota with two goals from Audrei Victor Mapa and one each from Zarwin Gulmatico and Cris Valderama.

Trinity, meanwhile, scored their two goals in the first half with Vince Chu in the 11 th minute and Ross Matthew Negrido in the 17 th . Rexter John Llera prevented a shutout with a goal in the 49 th minute.

In Bracket A, Andres Bonifacio ES outplayed second conference first runner-up University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 4-2, as Philippine Normal University (Cadiz) debuted with a 2-0 win against La Consolacion School, and St. John's Institute turning back St. Scholastica's Academy, 2-1.

ABES dictated the tempo of the match with an early attack on UNO-R's side that earned the first goal in the 3 rd minute courtesy of Audrei Victor Mapa.

UNO-R equalized in the 10 th minute on Mark Cantos' goal but Zarwin Gulmatico got through the defense to score his team's second point in the 19 th minute.

Mapa made his second marker for ABES in the 26 th minute while Christian Rufin cut the lead to 3-2 in the 34 th minute to give UNO-R some hope. Cris Valderama, however, sealed the win for ABES with a goal int eh 47 th minute.

Earlier, the UNO-R U16 team won their first match against USLS, 1-0, with a goal from Gyles Lucas Encabo's in the 43rd minute.

Meanwhile, King Francis Dequinto and Christian Duran scored for PNU in their 2-0 win against LCS, while SJI earned their first win in the tournament with a 2-1 win against SSA.

Goalmakers for SJI were Joshua Angelo Lomotan and Ali Lorenzo Arricivita, while Marc Joseph Soberano scored for SSA.

Games resume this Saturday in the Panaad pitch with the U13 team playing in the morning schedule and the U16 squads in the afternoon.*NAB
