3 PBA players
fined for scuffle

MANILA - A total of P23,000 in fines without suspension has been slapped on three players who engaged in a brawl that happened in a Philippine Basketball Association game between Alaska and Meralco last Friday.

Alaska's Calvin Abueva, last year's Rookie of the Year, received the highest penalty of P13,000, including P10,000 fine for his unsportsmanlike that caused Jared Dillinger's face to bleed and bruise.

The PBA office, on the other hand, also slapped Dillinger a P10,000 fine for grappling Abueva by the neck, along with taunting and trash-talking “as his act of physically restraining” Abueva.
