City gov't revamp set,
BAC members resign
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A revamp involving key positions in City Hall will be implemented next week, Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella said yesterday.

Puentevella said department heads will be affected by the revamp based on his evaluation of their performance for six months.

He has already talked to them and asked them for their understanding, he said.

Those appointed during the past administration, who have been performing well, will remain in their positions while those he believes will be more effective elsewhere, will be transferred, he added.

Puentevella said he will also designate seven to eight people to new vacant positions and will ask the Selection Board to approve their appointments.

Puentevella has issued Memorandum No. 2014-02 on January 13 designating Gionanni Balalilhe as acting City Treasurer replacing former CTO Annabelle Badajos who retired early this month

Meanwhile, the members of the Bids and Awards Committee of Bacolod City have tendered their courtesy resignations to Puentevella last month, as confirmed by its chairman Jerome Solinap.

Solinap said they wanted to give the Mayor a free hand to choose its members especially because Linda Ablanque, former head of the Department of Social Services and Development has resigned as vice chairman of the BAC last December because she is retiring.

He said acting Office of the Building Official head Isidro Sun also resigned, so it is now up to the Mayor whether he will reappoint them or not.

Solinap said other members of the BAC are engineers Ephraim Hechanova and Max Sillo of the City Engineer's Office and Environment and Natural Resources Office.

The members of the Technical Working Group are City Engineer Belly Aguillon, Allan Agbones, Josephus Serna and Xenia Locsin, he said.

The members of the TWG are being appointed by the BAC chairman, Solinap said. So if he is retained by the Mayor, he will be the one to appoint its members, he said.* CGS
