Complaints have been filed against a former Army sergeant for allegedly sexually abusing three male minors in San Enrique, Negros Occidental, last week, Senior Inspector Romeo Vargas, town police chief, said yesterday.

The accused ex-soldier is Arnold Frias Vaflor, 48, whom the minors aged 10, 9 and 5 alleged to have sexually abused them. He is now detained at the San Enrique jail, Vargas said.

The names of the three minors are being withheld by the DAILY STAR.moremoremore

Zayco: Kabankalan
airport work still on

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

There is no stopping the Kabankalan city government in pursuing its airport project, even without the support of the national government.

Mayor Isidro Zayco yesterday said they have allocated P10 million from their 2014 budget to continue the construction of the 105-hectare Kabankalan airport.

Stressing that the Bacolod-Silay Airport funded by the national government was realized after more than 12 years, Zayco said they will do their best for the realization of the Kabankalan airport.moremoremore
