| Bacolod’s religious fiesta
Hundreds of devotees attended the mass to celebrate the Feast of San Sebastian, the patron saint of Bacolod City, at the San Sebastian Cathedral, January 20.
Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra was the main celebrant, with dozens of priests serving. Later, he led the way to the third floor of the San Sebastian Rectory for the blessing of the Museo Diocesano de Bacolod, with Dr. Marilyn Marañon, Elsa Leonardia and Josefa Puentevella cutting the ribbon to open the museum.
The museum features a collection of sacred vessels, statues, images, vestments and canonical books.
The procession of the image of San Sebastian was also held at 5:30 p.m. and ended at downtown Bacolod, at the public plaza for the cultural show, titled “Padungog Naton sa Aton Santo Patron, Señor San Sebastian”.
Everybody enjoyed the wonderful show and the colorful display of the dancing fireworks, that was organized by the Bacolod City government and the Department of Tourism.
Viva San Sebastian!*
