AyalaLand Inc. is conducting a preliminary survey of the 7.7-hectare property it plans to lease and purchase from the Negros Occidental provincial government to come up with its master plan, Assistant Provincial Legal Officer Mary Ann Manayon Lamis said yesterday.
“We have provided Ayala with documents and the technical description of the lots covered by the lease and sale,” she also said.
This is part of Ayala’s due diligence work as they wait for the Regional Trial Court’s decision on a case filed by SM Prime Holdings Inc. that is expected to be released soon, she also said.
SMPHI had filed a case against provincial Capitol officials for awarding the sale and lease of the property to AyalaLand.
The Commission on Audit has upheld the awarding by the Capitol of the sale and lease of the property to AyalaLand.
Lamis said the Capitol is hoping to win the case.
She also said the Capitol is prepared to remove remaining structures on the 7.7-hectare property as soon as AyalaLand begins the lease and purchase of the property, she said.
The organic restaurant and an Office of the Provincial Agriculturist building remain on the property behind the provincial Capitol.*CPG back
