Hanah jins win in Iloilo

Bacolod City-based Hanah Taekwondo Club, mentored by Vic Feria, topped the cadet division of the Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog 2014 Dinagyang Taekwondo Championships held January 25at the Ateneo de Iloilo, a press release from the taekwondo club said.

2013 Smart MVP best player Keith Docado ruled the cadet boys advance bantamweight division, while Marcus Hinojas, a triple gold medalist in a tournament held in Chicago, USA last year, was unbeatable in cadet boys advance flyweight, the press release said.

Palarong Pambansa campaigner Caroline Dean Espinosa, another jin trained by Feria, won the gold medal in cadet girls advance lightweight as Winche Doromal reigned in cadet girls advance bantamweight and Lester Paolo Escasinas, dominating the cadet boys advance finweight category.

Silver medalists from the Hanah team were Creoz Celiz for the cadet boys advance featherweight Levi Deriada in cadet boys advance lightweight, and Ezekiel Lojares cadet boys novice lightweight. Chesca Cabrera claimed the bronze in cadet girls advance featherweight, the press release also said.

In grade school division, the Hanah team  was  second runner-up with Alyssa Trisha Hanaya, winning the the gold medal in player 3 advance, Nel Trisha Serimogan in the player 1 advance, and Mary Angeline Alcantara in player 2 novice.

Stephen Ched Serimogan (player 0 Advance) also brought home a silver from the tournament as John Matthew Castelo (player 0 Novice), Christian Espinosa (player 4 Advance), Rodney Posecion (player 6 Novice), Gabriel Nualda (player 1 Advance), and Lemarj Nualda (player 3 Advance) won a bronze.

Over-all champion in the elementary division is the Capiz Taekwondo Association with Central Philippine University dominating the juniors category, the press release added.*
