Photo workshop July 19-20
A travel photography workshop will be sponsored by Canon, one of the partners for the 8thTravelXchange, 10:30 a.m. to noon July 19 and 20 at the Robinsons Place Bacolod, a press release from the company said.
The workshop that is open for all without any registration fee, is part of the 3-day travel fair on July 18 to 20, organized by the Selrahco Management and Consultancy Services. Other activities are the 8thTravelXchange photo contest, young ambassador and travel and shop fun challenge, the press release also said.
The photo contest, open to those 16 years old and above, is scheduled July 18-20; deadline for submission of entries is 1 p.m. on the last day, and the winners awarded during the closing program, 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The TravelXchange Young Ambassador is open to all college students who are keen on promoting the Negros Occidental tourism. The contest proper is at 3 p.m. July 19, and cash prizes and round-trip tickets with hotel accommodations await all winners. The travel and shop fun challenge is open to groups of three college students. Contest proper is 1 p.m. Saturday, the press release also said.
The event is sponsored by the Department of Tourism Western Visayas, Bacolod and Negros Occidental governments, Cebu Pacific Air, TIEZA, Pagcor Bacolod, Canon Marketing Inc., Resorts World Manila, Sun Cellular, and Go Hotels.

Two senior officers of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Bacolod City retired Monday and were given honors during a program at the Fire Department.

‘Caravan of services’ slated
at Salvador Benedicto today
Salvador Benedicto Mayor Jose Max Ortiz will launch today the quarterly “Caravan of Services”, supported by the private and government agencies, a press release from the town said.
The services include a medical and dental mission, feeding program, eye check up and distribution of eyeglasses, distribution of gift packs to indigents, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, and school supplies to students and parents, the press release also said.
The project will be joined by the Office of Rep. Jules Ledesma (Neg. Occ., 1st District), Office of the Vice Governor, the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, Social Welfare and Development Office, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Express Optical Clinic, Zitro Vet Pet Clinic and other private individuals, the press release also said.*
