Pa feels son’s pain
at scene of hazing
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Bacoleño father of hazing victim Guillo Servando said he felt the pain his son underwent yesterday when he joined law enforcers inspecting the house in Makati City where the deadly initiation rites took place Saturday.

Aurelio Cesar “Taboy” Servando of Bacolod City went to the house in Barangay Palanan in Makati when police and National Bureau of Investigation teams entered its premises after securing a search warrant, GMA News reported on its website.

"A lot of very bad images came back and I could feel the pain my son must have gone through when he went through the initiation," the elder Servando told GMA News.

Guillo, an 18-year-old sophomore student of De la Salle-College of Saint Benilde, succumbed to the injuries he sustained during initiation rites at the Makati house Saturday night that reportedly included mental and physical abuse. Three of his companions were hospitalized.

His father said he hopes the fraternity men who caused the death of his son have not left the country, and that they are conscience stricken and surrender.

GMA News reported that at the fraternity house, the father saw a pair of short pants that may have been worn by his son.

"Please continue to pray for us and for the other victims still recovering. We hope maso-solve ang problem na ito (this problem will be solved)," the father said.

The caretaker of the frat house had earlier surfaced and provided names of the fraternity men who were at the hazing rites, Servando told the DAILY STAR Wednesday.

The ashes of his son, who was cremated on Wednesday, will be buried in Bacolod City, he said.

Br. Antonio Cesar “Bong” Servando of the University of Saint La Salle, and brother of Aurelio, yesterday told the DAILY STAR the cremated remains of his nephew will stay in Manila for a few weeks. Guillo’s remains will be interned at the Burgos Cemetery in Bacolod City where his grandparents are buried in the Servando mausoleum.

“May good comes out of this tragedy,” he said.*CPG
