The Bacolod City High School Batch '79 bowling team led by Larry Dela Cruz lead the top five teams vying for the title in the premier division in tomorrow's final round of the 5th Triangular Bowlfest for Unity 2014 at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

After leading the team standings, BCHS '79 earned a twice-to-beat advantage against the challengers -- NOHS B'85, BCHS C'74, and BCNHS B'89.

Also in tomorrow's schedule is the battle of the top 10 bowlers for master bowler honors, both in the men and women's division that will start at 2 p.m., while the team competition begins at 4 p.m.

Eyeing the title in Class B bracket are NOHS B'97 headed by Karl Barbosa, NOHS B'90, DLNHS '78, NOHS '70-75 Combined, and BCNHS C'85-89.

It will be an all-NOHS clash in Category C with the Class 2000-up piloted by brother's Rommel and Raymund “Toti” Galvan having the edge over their schoolmates after topping the earlier rounds.

Competing with the leading squad are NOHS B'95, NOHS C'89, NOHS C'80, and NOHS B'94.

Tournament's record holders are Richard Gonzales (NOHS '99) in the men's pinning with 95, while Estrella Mendoza (BCNHS '81) in the distaff side with 94.

The highest single record markers are Larry De la Cruz (DLNHS '77) and Noralyn Lamis (BCNHS '80) in the men and women's bracket with 159 and 148 apiece, while Toto Flores (NOHS '94) and Lamis in triple with 414 and 380, respectively.

BCHS '79 registered the team record with 561 and 1609 in single and triple.*HLG
