3 small farmers associations
awarded GAP certifications

Every Friday is market day at the Negros Showroom car park at Lacson Street, Bacolod City, a press release from the Association of Negros Producers said yesterday.

Fresh crops regularly available include cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, baguio beans, raddish, lettuce; bell peppers, sayote, herbs and leafy vegies, squash, sweet potatoes, the press release said.

“Gulay Day Basta Friday” is a new marketing activity of ANP in partnership  with three local  farmers groups  who have benefitted from the  OURFOOD Program, it said.

The fresh products are produced under the GAP standards and practices established by the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards, it added.

With the Consolidation of the ANP, small farmers are able to reach institutional buyers without having to worry about accreditation fees, delivery costs and packaging, the press release also said.*
