The mini-van driver, who allegedly shot dead a security guard in Silay City, Negros Occidental Thursday, has been identified through the closed-circuit television camera footage, and by witnesses, Supt. Rosauro Francisco Jr., Silay Police chief, said yesterday.
He named the suspect as Kirk James Rocha, 40 to 45 years old, and a resident of Brgy. 5 in Silay. Rocha was identified through the footage of the CCTV of the store, the statements of three witnesses, and a website, Francisco added.
Investigation showed that Rocha shot guard Raffy Aurelio, 33, of Brgy. Bagtic in Silay, with a .45 caliber pistol, hitting him in the thigh and elbow. The victim died of loss of blood, Francisco said.
Aurelio, who was the on-duty guard of the Prince Hypermart, accosted Rocha, who allegedly parked his white mini-van in front of the establishment, and a heated argument ensued between them, Francisco said.
He said that through a website, the police got the photo of Rocha, who has a violation for over-speeding in Texas, USA.
Charges for homicide will be filed against the suspect on Monday, the police said.
Francisco urged Rocha to surrender and clear his name if he is innocent, or if he did the crime, to face his responsibility to the family of the victim.*SGG
