3 fall in buy-bust, gun,
ammo seized
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

A gun, ammunition, suspected shabu and its paraphernalia were recovered from a tricycle driver during a buy-bust operation at a house in Purok Cabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, at about 4 p.m. yesterday.

Arrested were Eric Montalban, 30, and his uncle Regie Montalban, 52, who was in the house during the operation, the police said.

Senior Insp. Jose Mulleta, chief of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, said that the younger Montalban was nabbed after a poseur-buyer bought a small sachet of suspected shabu from him, in exchange for P200 in marked money.

The police also seized three other sachets of suspected shabu, a .357 caliber revolver loaded with five bullets, P1,300 in cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal sale of shabu, two cellular phones, and several illegal drugs paraphernalia, Mulleta said.

Meanwhile, another buy-bust operation was conducted by the CAIDSOTG at a pension house at Rosario-Mabini streets, Brgy. 32 in Bacolod, at about 7:30 p.m. yesterday, that led to the arrest of Jonathan Cuison, 29, of Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, Mulleta said.

Recovered from Cuison were suspected shabu, P300 in marked money, drugs paraphernalia, and P620 in cash believed to be illegal drugs proceeds, Mulleta said.

The Montalbans and Cuison were subjected to drug tests, while the seized items were turned over to the Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the Montalbans and Cuison, Mulleta said.*SGG
