Slaughterhouse
waste not collected

The plant manager of AVM Bernardo Engineering, that operates the Bacolod City Slaughterhouse in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City informed the city government recently that their solid waste had not been collected by Enviroking since May 8.

In her letter dated May 23, to Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella, Glorydee Cometa, said that, previously, Enviroking had been collecting their solid waste on an irregular basis, or once a week, after follow-up calls from them.

The management of Enviroking, however, said it is the city that schedules the collection and that, based on its schedule, they are supposed to collect solid waste of the slaughterhouse every Wednesday and Saturday, she said.

PHILSURIN releases
new sugar varieties

The Philippine Sugar Research Institute Foundation Inc. has released its three new high yielding varieties that include PSR 01-105, PSR 02-247 and PSR 01-136, its press release said.

The firm’s breeding station is in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Of the three, PSR 01-105, proved outstanding for a national release while the two others o PSR 02-247 and PSR 01-136 - can be recommended for specific districts, the press release said.

PanAsiatic job caravan
scheduled in barangays

PanAsiatic Call Center will start an employment caravan this week in the barangays in Bacolod City.

Its site director Siony Hijara said they started an employment caravan in southern Negros two weeks ago in partnership with the Office of the Governor, through the Negros Occidental Language and information Technology.

Board member Gatuslao helped facilitate their visit to the different municipalities and cities in the 5th District of Negros Occidental like Himamaylan, Hinigaran, Moises Padilla, Binalbagan and La Castellana where they were able to gather hundreds of applicants, she said.
