‘Reset 6100’ urban art,
music & sports fest held
“Reset 6100”, an urban art exhibition, music and sports festival was held Saturday at the Baywalk in Bacolod City, for everyone to have fun and to reset their minds before the opening of school, event organizer, Abbie Uychiat, said.
The event was a brainchild of Clyde Harris, who said, “We have a lot of talents, it’s about time to merge arts, sports and music”.
It showcased sports through longboarding, skateboarding, BMX, and fixed gear bicycle exhibition; the artworks of local artists, 3D art competitions, graffiti murals; and beats and music by disc jockeys from Bacolod, Manila, Iloilo, San Francisco, Guam, Sydney, and London.
About 35 groups from Negros, Iloilo, and Cebu joined in the skateboarding, cycling, and longboarding competitions. Cash prizes and freebies from sponsors were given to the winners.
Spectators also witnessed an on-the-spot canvas painting, graffiti, and 3D painting, led by the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros.
The music festival featured DJs Eric Gella, Ben Thomson, Jao Varela, VEGA, PharmDJ, Jack Stone, Martin Pulgar, Anton Gacuma, Clyde Harris, and Leandro Zayco, who played house music, electronic dance music, and techno selections, to the delight of the young and old spectators alike.*

Youth Leaders Assembly
A whole day Youth Leaders Assembly was held the at the Media Center of the Panaad Park and Sports Stadium Saturday, facilitated by city vice Mayor Greg Gasataya, a press release from his office said.
About 200 youth leaders in their communities and schools attended the assembly with two speakers from the National Anti-Poverty Commission-Youth & Student Division, of Gibby Gorres and Floyd Edrea, of the Department of Health-Region VI.
Israel Salanga is the assembly coordinator, The students who represented the 61 barangays of Bacolod came from the Bacolod City College, University of St. La Salle, Visayan Maritime Academy, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation, Colegio San Agustin, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, and Riverside College. The youth delegates were also grouped for a team building during the assembly, the press release said.
Another youth gathering will be conducted, for new members of the organization, Salanga said.
As his message, Gasataya said that mobilizing the youths and inspire them to become active volunteers for youth development can be one effective measure of good governance, the press release added.*
