Pacquiao admits dream fight
vs. Mayweather stays elusive

With the clamor for a duel between him and American boxer Floyd Mayweather still ringing loud, world boxing champion and Sarangani House Rep. Manny Pacquiao said over the weekend in Puerto Princesa that the dream fight remains a dream.

This as Mayweather seems  not to be  keen on fighting him, says the boxing champ.

Top Rank chief Bob Arum, who primarily promotes Pacquiao’s fights has announced that Pacquiao’s next fight will be held in November this year in Macau.

“I don’t care who will be my next opponent. But it would be great if it is Mayweather because that is what the fans want to see,” he said.

“But the weather is not good yet. One thing sure is my next opponent is a boxer,” he added in jest.

Pacquiao was in Puerto Princesa City as part of his Kia promotion tour. Kia Motors Philippines is the latest team to join the Philippine Basketball Association, where Pacquiao is being groomed as the playing coach when the PBA opens its next season.

Asked how he will do as a professional basketball player, he said that hardwork and sacrifice are the keys.

“We will do everything we can. The sacrifices we did in boxing, we will bring to our basketball games” he said, adding that basketball had been a favorite game when he was younger.

“There’s a basketball court in front of our house when I was young. And now, I also have a covered court in my house,” he said.

Pacquiao also said that  Kia is now trimming down probable players who  will complete its roster.

“We scouted around 50 players, and now we are down to 20,” he said, adding that they are trying to complete a team that will not be a pushover once they join the country’s pro-league.*PNA
