BY CARLA GOMEZ

Three Bacolod residents were sentenced yesterday to life imprisonment for the sale of drugs.

In Criminal Case 11-34718, Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 Judge Raymond Joseph Javier found Jover Cabisag Gulaja, alias “Bebot”, and Arnel Hechanova Gomez, alias “Misoy,” guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the sale of shabu in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, and sentenced them to suffer the penalty of life imprisonment, and pay a fine of P500,000.

Information filed in court said they sold one sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu weighing .08 gram in exchange for P500 in marked money to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agent in a buy bust operation at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod, on March 17, 2011. moremoremore
