Members of the claims board created by President Benigno Aquino lll to implement R.A. 10368, or “An Act Providing for the Reparation and Recognition of Victims of Human Rights During the Marcos Regime,” will be in Bacolod City July 3 to 4 to process claims at the annex building of the Bacolod City Government Center.
The Board has set the filing of applications for recognition and reparation between May 12 to November 14, and will conduct mobile caravans in major cities nationwide, a press release from the office of Councilor Archie Baribar said.
Baribar, vice chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Human Rights and SP floor leader, is asking all human rights violation victims of the Marcos regime from Sept. 21, 1972 to Feb. 25, 1986, to come to the Government Center on July 3 to 4 and bring all necessary documents, the press release said.
The requirements are sworn statement narrating circumstances of human rights violations, sworn statements of two co-detainees or two persons who have personal knowledge of the circumstances; arrest warrants, seizure orders, certification by custodial government agencies on facts of detention.
Police blotter, NBI files, release papers, court records, original or duly certified lawyers records, photographs with affidavit of proper authentication, as well as, proof of identity of human rights violation victim (HRVV), legal heir/s or authorized representatives, birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, and government issued identification cards.
Applicants may also proceed to the offices of the Diocesan Social Action Centers of the Diocese of Bacolod and Kabankalan or the office of Baribar at the Government Center, the press release added.*CGS
