The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City unanimously approved a resolution extending the city’s deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Andres “Andy” Hagad Wednesday.
Authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella and co-authored by Councilor Sonya Verdelfor, the resolution recognizes the efforts of Hagad, a former Board Member of Negros Occidental and a columnist, for his tireless dedication and contribution to reshape the political, economic and social conditions of the city and the province.
“In behalf of the city, this our own little way of paying our respects to the man who had spent his lifetime uplifting the welfare of his constituents,” the condition said.
Hagad, 64, was also a University of Saint La Salle professor and a member of the University Board of Trustees. In the political field, Hagad is remembered as the former chairman and chairman emeritus of the Liberal Party of Bacolod City, the resolution also said.
