Ayala turns over houses

The Ayala Land Inc. recently turned over 150 housing units out of its target of 350 for victims of super typhoon Yolanda, who are residents of Sicogon island, at rites held in Brgy. Jolog in Estancia, Iloilo.

Ryan Ybanez, Ayala Land project development manager said ALI has allocated more than P100 million to build a new community in the coastal barangay of Jolog, Estancia, as its commitment as development sponsor of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery, headed by rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson.

ALI, which is now marking its 25th anniversary, is exploring a joint venture agreement with Sicogon Development Corp. to develop the prime island property of Sicogon in Carles town of Iloilo.

Ybanez said ALI has also given 300 repaired fishing boats to typhoon victims in Carles, Estancia and Banate.

Sicogon island is owned by a prominent family in northern Negros.

In recent months, Ayala Foundation Inc. also gave fishing boats and seeds to fishermen and farmers in Negros Occidental as part of its long-term rehabilitation efforts in communities affected by “Yolanda”. * GPB
