Tigers keep hope alive in Huminova Tigers, needing a win to stay in contention for the championship, eliminated Sweet Crystal, 93-86, Friday night to keep their hopes alive for a seat in the quarterfinals of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inter-Company Basketball Tournament at the Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City. Sweet Crystal fought hard and took the lead at halftime, 47-31, with Ralph Richard Tan and Livingstone Ang scoring 13 points each but the Tigers stayed within striking distance as Leonard Kilayko and Brian Tan combined for 25 points. Kilayko continued to sizzle in the third quarter and shot nine points as the Tigers caught up with Sweet Crystal and wrest the lead at 69-67. |
