“Pre-construction work is continuing for the leased section of the project”.

That was the answer yesterday of Emilio Tumbocon, AyalaLand Inc. Group head for the Visayas and Mindanao, when asked if a new case filed by SM Prime Holdings Inc. will delay the development on the 7.7-hectare Negros Occidental provincial government property in Bacolod City ALI is set to lease and buy.

BRGY. SAN AGUSTIN, Isabela - The Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command is now focusing its effort on Negros Occidental, which it expects to be declared soon as conflict manageable and development ready. This was the declaration of Negros Oriental as such last month.

Although they have not set a time table for its declaration. Lt. Gen. John Bonafos, AFP Central Command chief said yesterday that they have noted a marked improvement in the peace and development campaign of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, in tandem with local government units and multi-sectoral groups, including civil society organizations.

Bonafos said there is need for an immediate follow up to bring the development aspect to the conflict-affected communities.moremoremore

Transport groups protest

Members of the United Negros Drivers and Operators Center and the Federation of Bacolod City Drivers Associations staged a transport caravan from the Bacolod Government Center to the office of the Land Transportation Office, where they staged a protest yesterday.

Diego Malacad, secretary general of UNDOC, said they are protesting the implementation of the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) 2014-001 of the Department of Transportation and Communications, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and the Land Transportation Office, that increased the penalties for road transport violations.moremoremore
